War Chess

The game provides instructors with an easy-to-learn and flexible environment to train small groups. In War Chess, students play a modified version of the game of chess. Options include hidden movement, in which playing pieces become sensors as well as weapons, variable victory conditions (terrain and force-oriented missions), varying force structures and initial starting locations, and the use of tactical icons and tactical maps instead of the traditional playing pieces and game board.

War Chess can be played stand-alone on a single computer or multiplayer over the internet or a classroom network.
